Carlsmed<\/a> – a leading medical device company which combines a patented device with patient-
\nspecific data to develop personalized spine surgery care for optimal outcomes. The company
\nrecently announced a favorable reimbursement decision by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid
\nServices (CMS). The decision goes into effect October 1, 2024. (Highlighted April 2024)<\/a><\/p>\n

\n

Cortechs.ai<\/a> – founded in 1998, Cortechs is a leader in developing brain image analysis software
\nsolutions for several neurological disorders. The company recently received 510(k) clearance from
\nthe Food & Drug Administration (FDA) for their groundbreaking NeuroQuant \u00ae 5.0 software, an AI-
\npowered image analysis and evaluation system.<\/p>\n

\n

FormAlloy Technologies<\/a> – founded in 2016, FormAlloy is a pioneer in developing Directed Energy
\nDeposition (DED) systems for 3D metal printing technologies. The company recently celebrated the
\ngrand opening of their new additive manufacturing center in Spring Valley.<\/p>\n

\n

HAI Solutions<\/a> – founded in 2015, HAI Solutions is a medical device company developing innovative
\nsolutions to reducing contamination of IV devices in various hospital settings, thereby reducing
\npatient infections and saving lives. The company recently participated in the inaugural RM8 iNov8
\nPitch Competition held at the annual conference of the American Association of Nurse
\nAnesthesiology (AANA) Congress. HAI Solutions won the pitch competition, which came with a
\n$15K prize.<\/p>\n

\n

Intraratio<\/a> – is an innovator in developing enterprise software solutions to automate and streamline
\nmanufacturing operations in the semiconductor, electronics and MEMs industry sectors. For the
\nsecond year in a row, the company was awarded the 2024 Mexico Technology Award (MTA) in the
\nMES software category. The MTA program recognizes companies with new innovations which are
\nproduced by OEM manufacturing equipment and materials suppliers over the last 12 months and
\nwhich are available in Mexico. (Highlighted December 2023)<\/a><\/p>\n

\n

Molecular Assemblies<\/a> – a pioneering leader in developing DNA synthesis technologies, the company
\npreviously received funding to participate in a new program called NOW (Nucleic Acids On-Demand
\nWorldwide), which is part of the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA). As a result
\nof achieving significant milestones, Molecular Assemblies\u2019 participation has been extended and they
\nwere recently awarded an additional $4M to continue further technology development in the next
\nphase of this DARPA-funded program. (Highlighted June 2024)<\/a><\/p>\n

\n

NeuraLace Medical<\/a> – has developed a non-invasive and non-addictive pain reduction medical device
\n– Axon\u00ae Therapy – which was approved by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) in 2021. They
\nrecently received funding from local angel investment group, NuFund Venture Group. (Highlighted February 2024)<\/a><\/p>\n

\n

Origami Therapeutics<\/a>– a pre-clinical stage company developing novel therapeutics to treat
\nneurodegenerative diseases such as Huntington\u2019s Disease, the company recently received funding
\nfrom local angel investment group, NuFund Venture Group. (Highlighted August 2024)<\/a><\/p>\n

\n

Palm Therapeutics<\/a> – an early-stage biotechnology company developing proprietary palmitoylation
\ntechnology to develop anti-cancer drugs, the company was one of four local startups recently
\nawarded a Catalyst Grant by San Diego-based Curebound. Curebound is a philanthropic
\norganization which invests in innovative cancer research. (Highlighted March 2024)<\/a><\/p>\n

\n

Papillon Therapeutics<\/a> – is a clinical stage biotech company developing a pipeline of gene therapy
\ntreatments for neurological conditions. The company was recently granted two orphan drug
\ndesignations by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA): one for PPL-001, their experimental
\ntreatment for Friedreich\u2019s ataxia; and the second one for PPL-002, for the treatment of Danon
\nDisease. (Highlighted May 2024)<\/a><\/p>\n

\n

Resolute Science<\/a>– a pre-clinical biotech company whose mission is to develop pan-cancer
\ntherapeutics to treat aggressive and hard-to-treat solid tumors, the company was one of four local
\nstartups recently awarded a Catalyst Grant by San Diego-based Curebound. Curebound is a
\nphilanthropic organization which invests in innovative cancer research. (Highlighted August 2024)<\/a><\/p>\n
